I recently deleted my app of snapchat because I'm not a tool. The other reason I deleted it was because there is this story that pops up everyday of people endorsing a different city. How the city is advertised I guess is what made me so angry. The story includes people taking selfies, taking pictures of food, recording people getting drunk, being frikkin annoying, and just flat out being overly attached to their phones. I find it depressing, that someone would actually go to a beautiful city, it was Chicago this time, probably just to be glued to their phone. I've been to Chicago several times, actually the summer before this school year I was their for a week. We took an architectural kayaking tour down the Chicago River, took another architectural tour on bike of Frank Lloyd Wright in Oak Park, visited the University of Chicago, played soccer at a summer festival downtown, and did a little of everything. In a city like Chicago, how could you ever be bored? There's an infinite amount of things to do in such a beautiful city. Why would you waste your time being on your phone and not looking around to see how gorgeous Chicago really is? Get off your phone and look around for a little bit. Don't worry about uploading a picture of the city with the perfect filter. For once, just put your phone in you pocket and immerse yourself in beauty. It saddens me to see people not have the experience of seeing all the city has to offer. I'm not sure what city this is but you see what I'm getting at.

  1. I totally agree izzmaster! I can't stand it when people just stay on their phones the whole time and act like its the most important thing in the world. Like I believe that you should be outside playing, and appreciating nature. And while I'm a little guilty of using my phone to play games and such, I still am not as glued as some people are. You know what? I might even get rid of some social media too! Thanks for sharing izz.

  2. I feel this. I find it irksome when people have looooong snapchat stories (as long as 200 seconds) as if they need to document every moment of their life. So many people "capture" funny yet candid moments, and I can't help but wonder if their hand and phone are glued together because how else would they frame something so unplanned?
